Three Ingredient Chapstick

It's fall y'all! Since I began using Essential Oils, I am always looking for more ways to use them to replace the toxic and chemically based products in my home. Anything that you put on the skin goes into your blood stream, so yes, even with chapstick it is important to use an organic product.

Many organic chapsticks can cost anywhere from $3.99 to $6 for just 1 tube! That's ridonc-A-donc. While I haven't done the math on this recipe, I can tell you for certain that this is so much cheaper!

Go order yourself some organic beeswax in pellet form from Amazon. And then get some organic Unrefined {don't go losing all those phytonutrients by choosing 'refined'} cold-pressed extra-virgin coconut oil. You will also want to buy empty chapstick tubes. I bought everything from Amazon!

Pick any Essential Oil to make your chapstick! You will only hear me talk Young Living here because after an insane amount of research I have yet to find another brand I could trust. You can send me an email if you would like a special webinar with all the reasons as to why!

Take 2.5 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil + 1.5 Tablespoons Beeswax and put them in a glass measuring cup. Sit it on the stove on LOW heat until the pellets are completely dissolved. {No cheating. Microwaves not allowed.} Remove from heat {carefully} and then add about 14 drops of essential oil(s). You can always split up the CO and Beeswax mixture into 2 glass dishes if you want to make different flavors as well.

This recipe makes roughly 10 tubes of chapstick! This is a great gift idea as all of my friends and even my manly man, have loved it! Also, if you would like to tint it, you could ad a little beet root powder. I like to use mine on top of my lipstick personally.

I use a syringe commonly used for children's medicine to transfer the mixture into the empty tubes. Once you fill each tube, you'll notice the top settles a bit and so you can go back and top off the tubes so that you get a nice clean and flat finish.

And there you have it, folks! Follow me over on Periscope HERE if you want to witness me frolicking the lavender fields in Utah in a couple of weeks! I will be giving you a peak into the Seed to Seal process that sets Young Living apart. It's going to be amazing!

**The Periscope Broadcast of yours truly making this recipe will be available until this evening at 9PM Central

The Wait- My Journey Through Infertility

Today I'm guest blogging over at my new friend Ashlie's blog! Can you believe we actually became real-life friends through a loop on Instagram? And she just moved into a house about 7 minutes from mine! Social media can be pretty great.

Join me at Southern Made Blog to read about our journey through infertility.
